Counterpart International is an organization that seeks to empower vulnerable people. As part of Counterpart’s Civic Advocacy Program, COAF implemented an advocacy program to raise awareness of Women in reproductive health and rights in four villages in 2006. Thirty women received reproductive health rights training. In addition, two pamphlets titled, “Women Be Aware and Protect Your Rights” and “Family Planning and Early Marriages, STDs and Violence” were published and distributed. Counterpart also provided humanitarian assistance to the residents of Karakert in 2005, distributing winter clothes and shoes to low-income families, and donating 30,000 tablets of methotrexate (an anti-cancer drug) to the Institute of Hematology in Yerevan.
