Dear Faculty, Planners and CME Committee Members for AMWC2025,
We are working to offer continuing medical education credits for the US, Armenia and EU. There is a certain amount of required "paperwork" needed to maintain compliance and accreditation. This planning and paperwork must be completed by June 1st in order to provide credits.
More importantly, we want a Congress program that will create results, and that can be achieved through communication between now and July. Please refer to the points highlighted below, andThis email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Thanks,

The Mission Statement for the Congress (below) describes connections and collaboration. (This is essentially the purpose of AMIC.) What results can we gain from our meeting? Can we inspire some new partnerships among our members?
Can we teach social and networking skills, synergy of thought and vision, camaraderie and communication among our attendees?
You may think of other "hot topics" that we should include. When you give your presentation, what's in it for your audience? How will they use your teaching? (As a result of this presentation, the audience will ____ ). How could they connect and work with colleagues as a result of your presentation?
There are a few things we need from you now. Click here to skip to the bottom of this page
Briefly, CME involves these basics:

what does success look like? |
The Armenian-American Medical Society, who is providing CME credit for this Congress has some basic requirements they must address in order to stay accredited (to continue providing CME credit). (see also https://accme.org/rules/criteria/) These include:
- A mission - what are we trying to do? (Read the Mission Statement below if you haven't already) It's about us working together, and less about specialty care.
- Professional practice gap - What are we trying to fix? What are the educational needs we must address in order to fix it? To get to where we are going, we must first know where we are now.
- Designed to change - sometimes expressed as learning objectives, but it could include an actual statement of what we'd like the doctors to do differently, or the outcomes we'd like to see in the patient population. Importantly, it should be measurable.
- Appropriate format (lecturing is OK, but not always the best way to achieve your goal. How about round table, panel discussion, point-counterpoint, programmed text, role playing, hands-on, many others.
- Think about the Desirable Physician Attributes you'd like to develop. It's not all about patient care. Cooperation is a separate skill from Medical Knowledge. Systems approach is a bit different than direct patient care.
- Analyzing change. How do we measure if our efforts paid off? A questionnaire (boring)? How about a tally of new partnerships and projects formed as a result of AMWC2025? How about new policies or procedures at MoH? Or new pathways for Diasporans to partner with locals? These make a lot of sense when you look at the Mission:
The Mission Statement of the Congress is:
"Our mission at AMWC 2025 is to foster meaningful connections and collaboration between Armenian health professionals and international experts to drive tangible improvements in healthcare for Armenia. Through knowledge exchange, networking, and scientific discourse, we aim to translate cutting-edge medical insights into actionable strategies that enhance healthcare outcomes. By bringing together professionals from both the public and private sectors, we seek to create lasting partnerships and contribute to the sustainable development of Armenia's healthcare system, while also strengthening the global Armenian medical community." |
This Mission Statement outlines some provocative goals for the Congress: connections, collaboration, exchange, networking, discourse, insights, strategies, bringing together, partnerships, and strengthening the global Armenian medical community.
Keep these goals in mind as you speak to the learners. What do you want the audience to do with the information you've given them? Hopefully they can use it to network, collaborate, and build new partnerships and programs.
Can we teach social and networking skills, interdisciplinary care, synergy of thought and vision, in addition to (or in place of) technical skills, considering our very diverse audience with differing educational needs?
When you give your presentation, what's in it for your audience? How will they use your teaching? (As a result of this presentation, the audience will ____ ). How could they connect and work with colleagues as a result of your presentation?
If you've read this far, I'm flattered.
Meanwhile you are welcome to read further in terms of CME concepts and terminology in gruesome detail at https://amicnow.org/253 . But please let me worry about the trivial stuff. PS What I'd like from you right now:
1. Financial disclosure form - you may have received this from Lilian, but you can download it HERE. We need this information from everyone in control of course content: speakers, planners, CME committee members. It is only required for presentations where CME credit is given.
2. Details of your presentation, including description of the problem you're trying to fix, and the results you'd like to see as a result of all your efforts.
3. In what language will you be presenting? We are attempting a translation system to accommodate several languages at once. Would you be interested to help us test the system between now and July?
Thoughts to keep in mind:
What would you like to see from the Congress? How can we make the biggest impact? How do we engage each other prior to the Congress to present a uniform vision? How can you express your ideas and experience as a starting point for someone who may be new to the AMIC community, is looking to contribute, but doesn't know where to start? How can you communicate your project in a way that it inspires and instructs other to do similar?
