 AAMS Mission Statement:

 The Armenian American Medical Society is an organization of medical professionals of Armenian descent. We are committed to delivering humanitarian aid in Armenia and across the Diaspora, mentoring healthcare professionals, and serving the Armenian community through education, outreach and professional development.

   Educational Planning and Evaluation
Educational Needs 

 The provider incorporates into CME activities the educational needs (knowledge, competence, or performance) that underlie the professional practice gaps of their own learners. (formerly Criterion 2)

 

 

Practice gap:   Armenian medical practitioners have a requirement for ongoing continuing medical education. There has been collaboration with diasporan organizations and we have tried to bridge the discrepancies between the planning processes in the US, Europe and Armenia. Moreover there is a push to modernize the educational process in Armenia.  The 14th Armenian medical world Congress will include several sessions dedicated to continuing medical education. This individual session is generated entirely from physicians working on the ground in Armenia.

 

 Designed to Change

 The provider generates activities/educational interventions that are designed to change competence, performance, or patient outcomes as described in its mission statement. (formerly Criterion 3)

 

 

Objectives: 

  • • Competency-based international educational standards
  • • Innovative accreditation and diploma recognition mechanisms
  • • Addressing diverse regional healthcare challenges
  • • Creating flexible professional mobility pathways
